Calling all Speakers

The Middle East Carbon Capture Summit 2024 is seeking presentations that broadly focus on the following key topics:

  • Making an economic assessment for carbon capture, utilisation, and storage
  • Reducing carbon emissions by industry sector – Challenges and Opportunities
  • New CCUS technologies and engineering know-how in developing the infrastructure
  • Supporting the industry with upcoming regulations and new environmental policies
  • Building a business model for CCUS with cost-reduction and commercialisation
  • Latest projects and transportation networks for CO₂ storage and utilisation

Today’s worldwide installed carbon capture and storage project capacity is around 40 Mtpa. To achieve net-zero emissions, they must increase by a hundredfold by 2050. More robust policies to incentivise rapid investment are overdue. Large-scale infrastructure projects are capital-intensive. Typically, carbon capture and storage design and construction costs are in the hundreds of millions, sometimes billions of US dollars.

Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts, and scientific developments around climate change due to two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global warming below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so-called carbon budget. Such factors indicate that science and technology are needed to reduce and generate “negative emissions” (actual removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide).

This year’s Middle East Carbon Capture Summit 2024 comes to Dubai with a unique and timely focus on addressing the challenges associated with assessing new carbon capture technologies, given the current market.

Be a part of our multi-disciplined agenda…

The Middle East Carbon Capture Summit 2024 Exhibition & Conference will allow professionals engaged in relevant disciplines to report on their accomplishments and exchange views. The conference will uniquely emphasise networking and building new relationships, including generating dialogue in technical know-how and introducing new technologies for industries to reduce carbon emissions. In addition, there will be an opportunity to integrate with allied industries and demonstrate insights into carbon storage and utilisation for mutual benefit.

Please consider participating in what is certain to be a highly productive experience with an opportunity to collaborate with industry experts in this fast-evolving market.
